Vanessa still on course for second bracelet in event 2

Vanessa Selbst is still on course to getting the second bracelet of her career. She is among the final fifteen players remaining at the $1500 No-Limit Hold’em event. A total of 240 players registered to get into the money for this event.

Vanessa had a bumpy ride as the event progressed, but still managed to finish with 706,000 chips at the end of the day positioning her at an impressive fifth spot in the leader board. This is remarkable for her as she was playing the “table of death”.

All eyes are on Vanessa as she is the last female player winner in an open event. The top ranked player in the event is Jacob Bazeley with 1,297,000 chips followed by Ryan Schmidt with 1,193,000 chips. Some of the impressive names in this event are Jean-Robert Bellande, Paul wasicka, John Juanda, Jason Mercier, and Dan smith. The second leg of the event will resume at 1 P.M at the RIO hotel in Las Vegas. In this event, Phil Hellmuth earned his 86th WSOP cash ($7,204) on Tuesday. However, he fell short in his bid of increasing his tally of gold bracelet to 12th when he was eliminated at the 61st position.

Big surprise

Some other surprises witnessed at the event include the elimination of Sadan Turker who was the first day chip leader, but was eliminated when he finished at the 24th position. Other big names that were shown the door include Juanda, Paul Wasicka, and Hoa Phan. At the end of play, only fifteen players remained to fight for the golden bracelet.
