According to a survey of 2,000 residents of the largest cities in Japan, aged 18 years and older, it turned out that almost 65 percent of Japanese people against the construction of Japan’s first gambling entertainment centers. Their thoughts are motivated by the fact that with the advent of casinos, public safety will become much worse.
According to the same survey, only 35% want to open a Casino in their country. And among those who want to go to gambling establishments, only 62.8% said they would like to have such an entertainment center in the immediate vicinity of their home, and 29.0% were against.
In turn, the government of Japan wants to build at least three such casinos in different cities of Japan, motivating its desire by the fact that in this way it will be possible to attract not only more tourists to the country, but also to increase income from taxes, which it plans to impose on such institutions.
According to a survey by the Japan tourism Agency, eight regions are planning to bet for casinos or thinking about it. Among them: Hokkaido, the cities of Chiba, Tokyo, Yokohama and Nagoya, Wakayama and Nagasaki prefectures, as well as Osaka Prefecture and municipal governments.
